Attention: Committee Chairs-
Your Technological Needs
The Technology Committee met this past Sunday to assess the technological needs of staff, Committee Chairs, and other interested parties. The meeting was informative, although not as well attended as hoped. If you are a staff member or a committee chair, and you have technological needs within the Fellowship, please fill out a Technology Survey Form! If you need a copy of the form, they can be found in the mailbox below the window in Room 1 in the next to the last row. If you have questions, or need further information, please contact Heather Cunningham at heather@lfs-sc.org.
Board Approves
First Endowment Category
During the October 1999 Board meeting, the Boozer Endowment committee presented a proposal which would officially create the first "designated giving" category of the fellowship's new Endowment Fund. The Board approved the proposal, and the "Howard & Frances Boozer Educational Fund" was born. This fund will become a permanent portion of the UUFC Endowment Fund, and disbursement decisions will made by the UUFC Endowment Committee. The interest from this Fund can be spent (after six years of growth) only on "..the Recipients' Educational Development, to be obtained from a UU-sponsored provider for an event not traditionally included in the UUFC General Operating budget. (Example, a special workshop held at the UUFC, an educational speaker of note, a scholarship to the Mountain, etc)... " The full text of this resolution can be found at: http://www.logicsouth.com/~uufc/boozer_resolutio .html
or a copy is available from Lee Minghi or from the UUFC office. Please consider supporting this fund "honoring Frances and Howard's pursuit of Educational Excellence", by making your check to UUFC, with BOOZER ENDOWMENT clearly marked in the comment field of your check.
Have you been thinking about joining the Fellowship?
On December 5th, we will have another new member inclusion service. Several people are already planning to sign the Membership Book during the service on that date. We also wish to welcome new members who joined our congregation on Sunday, November 7: Bill Meller, Paul Kinosian, Mary McGriff, Sara Williams, Amy Grimm, Dan Weck, Kathie Duprey, Kim Connolly, Jerry Moore, Ann Moore, Bryan Moore, David Banach, Amelia Linder, Karen Koprowski.
Finance Committee Update
UUFC Greeting Cards—Are you looking for Greeting Cards for this holiday season? The finance committee is offering UUFC specific greeting cards for sale this year on a limited basis. You can order and see examples of the cards in the Social Hall. The UUFC cards are perfect to send to your friends and family for the holidays or any occasion. The cost of the cards are: $1.50 each; or 5 of the same card for $7; or 10 of the same card for $12. Stop by and take a look. If you have any questions about the cards you can contact Terry Shaw at tvshaw@axs2k.net.
Fall Fling Sign-Ups—You still have time to sign up for Fall Fling events and auctions. Look at the board in the social hall—the events are a lot of fun and the auctions are for some cool services, so take a look!
